Entwistle says the root to this success is in the work culture at TELUS, including developing employee engagement and leadership that encourages that engagement, rewarding “how” someone has led or taken on a challenge even if their tangible goals weren’t met, and adapting to the changing needs of our society, including integrating social media use and allowing, even encouraging, working from home. TELUS leadership was orchestrating change, and tightening alignment and momentum, so when the pandemic hit – although unexpected – they were nimble and made quick adjustments without major upheaval.
